Costume Research
The costume used in the music video Mr. Brightside by The Killers shows that the artist wants to show that he is very formal. As well as thinking he is powerful as some reports say that wearing a suit makes yourself feel more powerful. The two men are also dressed formally but are placed at the back so they are very hidden. All of their suits are black which shows that they could be miserable but with the yellow waistcoat it could be to show that he has a bit of life in him but it is quite hidden.
Lady Gaga has a variety of different styles as you can see in the picture to the left, they are a few different costumes from some of her videos. The clothing shows that she is unique and doesn't care what people think. Not everyone dresses like this so Lady Gaga might be trying to reach out to her fans to try and say that they should dress how they want to as they're all free. On the other hand the costumes of Lady Gaga could also show that she is hiding her real self and she is trying to cover upand act like someone completely different as she must think the fans would prefer her as this fake person instead of someone true to themself.
The Lumineers costume is very casual, this shows that they are showing themselves of who they actually are. They are not trying to come across as different people through being famous or n the public eye. They wear very subtle coloured clothes which makes them blend in with everyday people. This could show that they just want to put their music out there for others to enjoy and relate to.
