Iconography of digipaks
An image or a symbol that represents a specific bit of work.

When looking at Billy Ray Cyrus' digipak cover you can straight away tell that the genre is country & western. This is because of his clothing, the guitar and the location.
His clothing indicates this because the shirt and the hat symbolise cowboys which all links together.
The guitar links to the genre as well because in a majority of songs that are country & western they always have a acoustic guitar playing.
Lastly the location shows that the genre is country & western because it connotes a rural barn feel with the industrial materials used.
When focusing at the Metallica's digipak cover you can see that the genre is metal. This is noticed in the way they are standing, the clothes they are wearing and how their hair and beards are.
The way they are standing gives the audience the impression that it isn't soft music as they are stood very sturdy, with a strong and fierce look about them therefore this shows that their genre is metal.
The clothes that Mettalica are wearing are dark t-shirts and leather jackets which symbolise the metal genre as if someone was to see these sort of clothes they would be stereotyping as that is what everyone thinks.
The way Mettalica have their hair and facial hair links to the metal genre because that is the stereotype when thinking of that specific genre.
