A music director can be anyone that is in control of directing any form of music such as an orchestra, concert band, radio station or music for a film.

Quincy Jones

Quincy Jones is an american record producer. His real name is Quincy Delight Jones, Jr. and his nickname is 'Q'. Quincy was born in March 1933, and was introduced into music by his mother. 

When Quincy and his brother were young, their mother was committed to a mental institution as she suffered from a schizophrenic breakdown.

Quincy Jones found music when he was 12 and got more into it when he attended high school. Quincy when he was 14  introduced himself to Ray Charles who was 16 and was a musician. Ray Charles was Quincy's inspiration which helped him out with his career. 

Quincy got offered a scholarship to Seattle University. After college Quincy gets offered to be a trumpeter on tour with Lionel Hampton. A few years later Quincy then tours again as a trumpeter and a musical director. 

Quincy has worked with so many famous people such as Frank Sinatra and Michael Jackson. He started working with Frank Sinatra in 1964 when Frank Sinatra asked him to arrange and conducts his second album. The reason Frank Sinatra hired him was because in 1958 Grace Kelly (Princess Grace) asked Quincy to sort out a benefit concert and the Monaco Sporting Club.

Quincy has worked with many labels such as Warner Bros Records, Columbia Records, Mercury Records, Qwest Records, Epic Records, ABC Records and Interscope Records.
